Building in a costal environment can be extremely challenging. Especially when the pool sits directly on the soft shores of the Barnegat bay. Costal engineering is our bread and butter, and this project showcases those talents extensively.
A combination of wood and helical piles were used in building the foundation. Both the pool and spa were built entirely above the height of the bulkhead, meaning additional forming was needed to build the walls. This foundation demonstrates the lengths we go to in order to build in the place we call home. Two variable-speed pumps were used for the water-in-transit system that creates the spillover effect. A concealed surge tank under the deck provides an invisible catch basin for the spillover water to be captured, filtered, and returned to the pool. This build showcases a flawless combination of raw materials. Bluestone, glass tile, natural stone, and porcelain tile was used to create a harmony of textures. Large format Praia Gray porcelain tile in the ashler pattern was used as the veneer for the spillover wall in addition to the surrounding patio. |
